3 TV Character Wardrobes To Steal For Yourself

When watching a TV show where the female protagonist has a wardrobe that is simply to die for, many of us can become distracted from the plot of the show itself. Some women might start thinking about how to boost their assets; however you can copy and recreate the look yourself with a few wardrobe additions.

We’ve rounded up three of the most covetable TV wardrobes, along with a few handy tips on how to steal the style for yourself.

1. Zooey Deschanel in New Girl

In real life, Zooey Deschanel has one of the cutest wardrobes of anyone in the business. As Jess in New Girl, her look is just as adorable, or ‘adorkable’ as adverts for the show put it. The key to this quirky look is rainbow-bright colour, as Jess always wears rich, saturated colours and bright, bubbly hues. Other staples of the character’s wardrobe are contrasting colour shoes, flouncy, flirty skirts, cute and comfortable flats and lots of unique patterns.

2. Christina Hendricks in Mad Men

Christina Hendricks on Mad Men is credited for the return of the curves

As the dangerously curvy and straight-shooting Joan in the hit U.S. series Mad Men, Christina Hendricks is a pin-up for men and a style inspiration for women. Girls with curvier frames, fuller figures and larger breasts (either natural or enhanced with breast enlargement surgery) love Christina’s shape-flattering vintage style. Her shift dresses, kitten heels and skintight skirts ooze sex appeal, but you’ll need to wear the right underwear to pull off this look. Lumps and bumps are a no-no, so shaping and control underwear is needed to create a smooth hourglass silhouette. You should also avoid clothes that are uncomfortable and shoes that you can’t walk in, as you need to have confidence to walk and wiggle like the glorious Joan. Lastly, keep your cleavage under wraps and choose jewellery that you can play with, just like Joan’s signature gold pen necklace.

3. Krysten Ritter in Don’t Trust The B—- in Apt 23

Krysten Ritter’s bitchy yet irresistibly likeable and fun character Chloe in Don’t Trust The B—- in Apt 23 has a unique, edgy wardrobe that most of us would die to get our hands on. Chloe loves the all-black look, never goes anywhere without a dash of red lipstick and has some fantastic accessories. To get her look, you’ll need to take some risks and a fearless approach to fashion. You’ll also need to like black, a lot.
