You my dear readers know I am a fan of UK clothing retailer, New Look. I have chosen to wear their clothes on some of the most important events of my life: a New Look chiffon dress to a very special friend’s wedding, a New Look red frock to a holiday in Paris, and another New Look day dress during a holiday at the grand Emirates Palace. I love how they try to give us stylish, catwalk inspired clothing ( including shoes, bags, and accessories) in an inexpensive manner.
And have you seen their range of children’s clothing? My favorite pieces from my son’s closet also came from New Look. I bought him a military inspired jacket (double-breasted complete with silver buttons adorned London’s coat of arms) and everywhere we go, people ask where I bought it.
Now there’s another reason for me to love New Look. While doing my annual shopping for winter clothes, my eyes caught New Look’s selection of Bench clothing. Bench is well-loved in UK for its take on active lifestyle and urban fashion. The brand started in Manchester in the late 80s when a thriving youth subcultures appeared. Skateboarding and bmxing were on the rise and the ‘madchester’ music scene was about to take the world by storm. I am an 80’s baby so music and street inspired clothes always appeal to me.
