I received a quick email today from my make-up artist friend. She is currently packing for her trip to Paris Fashion Week which falls at the end of September. Since this is her first (and thinks her only chance) to visit Europe, she wants to make the most of it and do a day trip to the eternal city of Rome. She never finished her history major in college due to the demanding work in the cosmetic industry but she has always dreamed of visiting works of Romans.
The quickest way to go around Rome is to buy a ticket to one of their hop on – hop off city bus tours. It goes around the major city attractions such as Piazza Venezia, Fontana De Trevi, St. Peter’s Basilica, Spanish Steps, and River Tiber, and of course the greatest example of Roman architecture and engineering, The Colosseo. This elliptical amphitheater is massive and glorious and wondrous considering they built it when digital micrometers were not yet invented.
Of course, one must not forget to rest and enjoy authentic Italian pizza (which is nothing like Pizza Hut), gelato, pasta, and classic fruit pies.
