Inside Coco Chanel’s Paris Apartment

It is what every devotee of fashion would want to see. The abode of the legendary Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel in Rue Cambon of Paris. The brand left the apartment exactly the same way as Coco left it. However, even if you can book cheap flights to Paris today, only VIP of the brand has access to the apartment. Thankfully, thecovetuer.com shared beautiful photos during their once  in a lifetime visit and I am sharing them for you to feast your eyes on.

Here, have  a slice of the alluring Chanel history:

Accordingly, the apartment has East-meets-West feel – chandelier and dieties, sculptures and gold boxes, lots of mirrors and marble lions. It appears that Coco was very much superstitious a her apartment was filled with symbols that give love, luck, and prosperity.

The Salon where Coco entertained Elizabeth Taylor, Pablo Picasso, and Salvador Dali. She designed the sofa herself made of suede.

Coco believed in the power of crystal healing so she had this chandelier custom made.

Books of deep red tones which inspired the Chanel lipstick and the lining of Chanel handbags.

Open-mouthed frog with crystal which is said to bring luck, love, and prosperity.

Coffee table with boxes containing gold, a gift for Coco from a Duke. The hand sculpture was made for Chanel by the Italian artist Alberto Giacometti.

The mirrored spiral staircase where Coco used to see the audience’s reaction to her collection during the show.
