Backpacks are hotter than ever now! They are a major explosion in street style dressing – which unfortunately I am not a fan. I think only Kristen Stewart can get away with it: milk skin, greasy hair, and a slender figure to die for. But backpacks are my thing. I love that my hands are free, I can take photos, while holding my little boy’s hand. or I can run faster to catch up with him as he scoots over the bridge at The Promenade.
So, is it ever possible to wear them and still be dressy? How do you get away with backpacks without looking like a kindergarten?
Backpack purse, sackpack, or batchel. Decide how you call them but when you choose to buy, decide what color best fits your wardrobe. Do you need something pink to pop up in your sea of black? Or do you need something muted as brown, black or grey to complement your closet? Then you decide on the material. Of course, the luxe material are better. But if budget does not allow, go for faux leather like the one above from H&M. Avoid those tribal prints unless you are a 1970’s baby.
Fashion backpacks can be worn with both straps on each of your shoulder or both straps in one shoulder, or carry them like a regular satchel. Whichever way, they make a great accessory particularly on summer dressing.
