Roadtrip To Kalba

The working weekends are back. ((^_^))

Hubby has a project in Kalba  (extension of the city hospital) and the consultant wanted to meet with him this week. Since he is loaded with only one structural engineer to rely in Abu Dhabi, he scheduled the meeting on a Saturday. Consequently, he asked us if we wanted to go with him. Of course we would go anywhere with him lol! It will be about three hour drive and will test the Little boy’s patience but we’re so used to traveling together that we have come to live with the stress yay!

We started with a drive-thru breakfast at McDonalds then took the Emirates Road until Sharjah and turned right on the National Paints roundabout. The red orange desert was  common sight so I didn’t think much about it. Little C was content sitting at the back – relishing the change of routine. We saw herds of camel and goats and then the trip got more interesting as we traveled high up in the mountains.

The view, though completely gray black block of mountains was amazing. My photos will never justify it. If ever you think you get bored of UAE, a quick drive to Kalba will remind you how glorious this country is. The road is fantastic and well built. Go through the tunnel and prepare to jump at the end hahhaa! It was  a scary ride yet one awesome experience.

We arrived outskirts of Kalba and the contractor said, the meeting will take place in Khorfakkan where the consultants’s office was located. We took another hour’s drive and passed by Fujairah to Khorfakkan but that will be another set of photos ((^_^))
